MONTROSE BUSINESS AND
PROFESSIONAL
WOMEN’S CLUB
FEBRUARY, 2008 NEWSLETTER
******************************************************************************************
Dear members and friends,
Wow, talk about a slippery entrance to February! Please stay
safe out there until
this ice leaves us.
Our February meeting is set for 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13,
at the Montrose
House, hosted by the Foundation Committee. The meal this month
features Quiche -
just right for warming up February.
Speakers for the evening will be two local women involved in
financial services.
Cheryl Wellman and Janet Krause, of Gannon Associates, which
recently moved the
local office to the Lake Montrose Plaza Mall, will tell us how
they became part of
the investment/insurance business and answer any financial
questions you may have.
And if this sounds familiar, that’s because signals were crossed
last month and our
guests were not available on the meeting night. A big thanks to
Liz Janoski, who
stepped in with a ‘Resolution Workshop’ along with interesting
information about her
online teaching experience.
AND, as it is Foundation month, we again are holding a RED PURSE
RAFFLE, with a
lovely purse graciously sold at cost to us by Twyla at ‘From the
Heart’. I’m sending
a photo along with this newsletter. Chances are $1 each or 6 for
$5. We’ve sold
quite a few tickets already, but there’s plenty more! Also,
we’ll have a ‘Valentine’
door prize basket.
Website Chair Connie Stevens will bring the club up to date on
the progress of the
Montrose BPW website, which is about to launch. The preview she
gave at our January
Executive Committee meeting wowed us all. She’ll have her laptop
along next
Wednesday so everyone can view it.
We’ll have updates on Casino trips, a pierogie sale and other
fund raisers. We’ve
got to get those scholarship funds replenished!
I was sent a copy of the report on our official visit made in
November by District 8
Director Lori Hubal. She gave us high marks, including
compliments on the program,
and our continued efforts to remain a viable club. Lori says she
always feels very
welcome at Montrose BPW.
Ann Fitzgerald will be calling for dinner reservations for Feb.
13. The meal is $12
per person. If you must cancel your reservation, call me, Susan,
at my work number,
278-6397, ext. 226, by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
As always, I hope you’ll bring a guest along. Let’s make
February 13 a ‘sweet’
meeting of members, new friends and fun!
THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING A PART OF MONTROSE BPW!
Susan
